I've finally got round to creating new pages for my music. In the next few weeks I'll be sharing lots of new things there and posting some new videos so please follow me to keep in touch!
Ahead of the wedding season starting, I have added some new repertoire to my selection including new harp arrangements of popular songs 'Perfect' (Ed Sheeran), 'Havana' (Camila Cabello), 'Despacito' (Luis Fonsi) and 'Love Me Like You Do' (Ellie Goulding).
Some of the newest film music also sounds fabulous on the harp so I've added 'Mia and Sebatian's Theme' (from La La Land), the theme from 'Game of Thrones' and 'A Million Dreams and 'Rewrite the Stars' from The Greatest Showman.
Looking forward to playing these new arrangements at events this year!
If you are struggling for present ideas, how about giving someone the chance to learn the harp this year? Whether you have never played before or are already receiving tuition and want an extra boost or the chance to learn a particular pop song, this is a gift tailored to the individual. Choose the number of lessons you would like to purchase and then get in touch via the contact tab.
The first proof of the Scottish harp "clarsach" was found in Monifieth graveyard over 1200 years ago (picture below), but now the art of harping has been brought back to youngsters there. Over 300 school pupils have participated in the harp project to date, learning a number of short tunes that they can perform to others - impressive how quick they have picked it up!
Putting together technicians, artists and musicians in local schools, these 16-strong fleet of harps are now out in primary schools around Angus where I'm working with P4-7 pupils that are learning to play the harp - so much fun!
It's that time of year again - wedding season! I've still got a couple of popular dates for 2017/18 available so get in touch to see if your date is still free and add a touch of elegance to your special day.
Big congratulations to Gina Gallacher on completing her Grade 8 Harp with distinction this session. Looking forward to another year of teaching my fab students all over the world!
