Other Considerations

Portability:
All upcoming performances will take place on Christine's newly designed Scottish harp. This instrument has a bright and dynamic sound, an extended bass for additional depth and volume and in-built amplification. It is compact and portable enough to fit perfectly into any venue and can be transported up stairs and played outdoors (in calm & dry weather).
Christine's Concert Grand Harp requires a larger space and is suitable for classical repertoire - if you are interested in this harp please mention at first enquiry. Both harps sound equally enchanting and will be the perfect accompaniment to your special day.
Amplification:
Amplification is provided at no extra cost. If you have a large room or your guests will be spread throughout different areas, then let me know that amplification will be required. Please bear in mind that an electrical socket should be nearby to where you would like the harp to be.
Requests:
Christine strives to keep her repertoire list up-to-date so there is a large variety of music for each client's individual tastes. However, if there is a particular song that is not listed then Christine is always delighted to learn new music. If Christine already has a harp arrangement of the song then there is no charge. However, if a harp arrangement of the music needs to be made, then a fee will be charged for the additional hours it takes to create and rehearse the new music.
Set Up & Positioning:
If you are having a harpist for your ceremony, consider where you would like the harp in your ceremony room (often at the very back or to the side of the table for signing the marriage schedule are good places) and make sure there is a space at least 1.5 x 1.5 metres squared. A harpist will also need a chair and, if amplification is being used, an electrical socket nearby.
Set up time is around 15 minutes.
Travel Expenses:
Travel expenses are charged at 50p per mile. Currently, Christine will travel to events within central Scotland, Tayside & Grampian areas.
Diary & Booking:
My diary opens up to a year in advance of your date so please get in touch at that point.
